The joy of the Lord is your strength

God gets angry when we misuse the temple he has given to us. John 2:14-15 talks about how Jesus went into the Temple and turned over the tables of the merchandisers because they were misusing the Temple as a marketplace when the Temple was built to be a house of prayer. In the same way, Jesus gets angry when we misuse our bodies which is the temple of the Holy Spirit! When we allow our bodies to be used for a purpose outside of what God intended...God still gets angry. God created humans to love and worship Him above all else. So when we start worshipping our husbands, wives, children, houses, cars, clothes, and jobs above God...God gets angry!

God wants us to love one another -- but he reserves worship for Himself and Him alone. Think about what you might put in front of God. Nothing in our lives should come before our relationship with God. I mean nothing. Worship means to be consumed with a thing. Worship includes giving love, service, and devotion to a person or thing.

We want to bring God joy... not make Him angry. So let's start to honor God as we ask God for direction and power to do His will. The joy of the Lord is your strength!
