Whatever God promised is already yours
After Moses died, God gave Joshua the responsibility to lead the people of Israel to the land God had already given them. It is interesting to note that God had already given the people this new land (Joshua 1:2-3; Joshua 2:9). Yet, the people needed to go in to possess/take ownership of the land. Joshua chapter one says no less than 4 times, “Be strong and courageous”. Whenever God makes you a promise…whatever he promised is already yours. It then becomes your responsibility to live the dream God has for you. Each one of us has a life we want to live. In order to live that dream life we must be strong and courageous because situations will arise and people will come into our lives, seemingly pushing us away from our dream life. That is the push back called life. There is no easy way to overcome the push back.
As we follow the text of Joshua 2, notice, God offered assistance in the person of Rahab. Those two Israelites never would have met Rahab if they had not gone to Jericho to investigate the land.
Where are you in your search for fulfillment of the promise(s) God made to you? Have you accepted the promise or have you ignored God’s invitation for you to live a better life? The only way to know if you accepted the invitation is by your daily actions. Spending time with the things of God – prayer, meditation, and reading the Bible prepare you to overcome the push back of life. Along with that preparation – action is required. I believe we will live the promises of God!!
Let’s get to work daily!!
Be blessed in Jesus name
