In John 7:46-52 when Jesus started to establish his ministry among the people there was confusion about His identity. The people were confused because Jesus did not fit the expected profile for the Messiah. High ranking officials in ministry said Jesus could not be a prophet because no prophets ever came from his hometown of Galilee! Those high ranking officials thought they were using sound wisdom but they were wrong about Jesus.
Even though no prophet ever came from Galilee before Jesus -- somebody had to be first! We now know Jesus was and is the Messiah, the Anointed One, the Son of God!
Be encouraged! You may well be the first in your family to teach or preach. You may be the first one in your city or family to lead with a certain gift. You never know exactly how God will use you to bless people or to break a generational curse! Don’t let people cause you to abandon your gift just because you are the first. Whatever God gifted you to do will make a difference in someone’s life.
Imagine what would have happened if Jesus had stopped working miracles because of what somebody said! Use your gift even when people express doubt and disbelief. God chose you and God will be disappointed if you allow anybody to convince you otherwise!
