PRAY
We have ended the first full week of social distancing in our city! Staying at home has proven to be a challenge to most people I know. Even though we now have time to do things we have put off for quite a while – the anxiety surrounding the uncertainty of this situation seems to hinder normal progress. Some people are spending too much time listening to news and dooms day reports along with government announcements that seem to be made in a drunken state.
I would encourage all of us to get up in the mornings with a plan for your day. In the morning dress as if you have some place to be – even if you will be home all day. Create distance between yourself and too much bad news (that’s what our news is these days). God is listening to hear our prayers. If we get too involved in the news . . . there will be no prayer. I have seen several good prayers on social media. There can never be too much prayer.
Would you pray with me?
Father, I pray that social distancing would give way to intimacy with you God
God I see your desire to spend time with us
I pray we respond by freely giving you our time
God I see a need for your presence in every home
I pray we will invite you into our homes at least one time a day
God I see a need for your presence in our schools
I pray for us to receive your teachings in our schools from birth throughout life
God I see a need for you in our government
I pray for you to return to our city, county, state, and national governments as only you can
Lord I pray that you would move from house to house and heart to heart
Making a way for your kingdom to be here on earth
As it is in Heaven
I pray God that we would cover ourselves in your word and Lord
that you will cover us in every situation we encounter
In the name of Jesus we pray
Amen Amen Amen
