The Commandments of God - 7 & 8
These next two commandments are straight forward, clear and concise. They are important guides for living blessed lives within the home, among family and in society at large. Let’s take a look.
THOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY
With this commandment God is providing for the stability of the family which is one of the basics of God’s plan for our world. Adultery is committed when someone is sexually intimate with another person who is not their spouse.
When extramarital, adulterous relationships occur – families are destroyed, children are devastated and God’s plan for strong families, strong churches, and strong societies is decimated.
The society God envisions is based upon successful marriages. When the family structure is minimized -- nations crumble. Marriage is an important part of human life. It is serious business between a man and woman. It is also serious business between each person and God. Even though loose living is all around, God still has a standard for our daily lives.
THOU SHALL NOT STEAL
In this commandment God is saying:
If you did not earn it
if you did not buy it
if it was not freely given to you
THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE IT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU
LEAVE IT ALONE
The Church has compromised and become less of a peculiar treasure or the salt of the earth; preserving God’s order in the world. Many Christians have become proud, worldly look-a-likes, seeking wealth and material things by any means necessary. God help your people.
As we renew our relationship with God, remember to pray for guidance and for help. God is ready and willing to cleanse us of all unrighteous if we agree to submit to His word. Amen
