In the meantime

Few people would have thought the United States of America would be in the predicament in which we currently find ourselves. In the midst of dealing with a pandemic/plague; we now have widespread protests in the streets. The protests were sparked by racial injustice demonstrated even before this nation was established. We cannot escape knowing God is not pleased.

While the nation is praying for God’s plan to be revealed . . . let’s follow God’s purpose in the meantime. You may say, “What is God’s purpose in the meantime?” In the meantime, our purpose is to love God and to love one another. In fact, that is God’s desire for all times. (Mark 12:30-31)

Today, let’s talk about how to love God. You may ask, ‘What does that look like?’ How do we love God? When we obey the instructions God gave for living our lives . . .we show our love for God. (John 14:15) Imagine a world where the majority of people desire to obey instructions given by God. There is no better place to live than in obedience to God! So, what did God say? I am sure you want to know!

The 10 Commandments are a list of God’s instructions for how to live. The 10 Commandments are a framework for our lives. When we follow those instructions…God will recognize our love for him! If we want to move from under the plagues of our times into brighter days, we must repent and change our way of living. We can no longer just throw some money at God or whisper a prayer of repentance and move on — without submitting to the will of God. God’s favor is upon us when we obediently engage in reading, understanding and obeying the 10 Commandments given to Moses. Those same 10 Commandments were embraced by Jesus and given for us to obey. (Exo 20; Matt 22:37-39; Matt 19:17-19)

Each person must decide for themselves. In the meantime, will you make a decision to love/obey God?
