Deut 4:8-9

God has been so gracious to leave us with direction concerning what pleases him. He could have left us without guidance. Instead, he has shown us what to do and how to honor him with our lives. 

Obedience is key to honoring God. Obedience flows out of a desire to do God's will. In Deuteronomy 4 the Children of Israel are reminded of how close God is to them. The importance of living our lives in remembrance of the guidelines God has given to us and teaching our children the same will cause the presence of God to continue to be with us.

When God is with his people, when we walk in obedience with God, the blessings overflow! We see examples of the result of obedience throughout the Bible. When you stray away from the guidelines God gave us -- do you find your way home or do you keep going in a wrong direction?
