Joshua 4:23-24 reads, ”for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
Chapter 4 tells of Israel preparing to give witness to their descendants, of the wonderful, miracle working power of our God. God dried up the waters of the Red Sea and the Jordan River to bring Israel safely across on dry land! The stones the tribal leaders collected were a monument to the miracle of God rolling back the water.
Think about how people establish reputations based on their behavior. God has an established reputation of being a miracle worker from generation to generation. His reputation is confirmed and magnified every day in the lives of people!
The children of Israel walked up to the Red Sea. When they could go no further — God stepped in! The children of Israel walked up to the Jordan River. When they could go no further — God stepped in! If you and I would go as far as we can — I believe God will step in! He has a reputation to protect. God is a miracle worker!! Bless His name!!!
