Seek God When Questions Arise
As we approach the end of a year and the beginning of a brand new year, remember: God has a plan for you; a plan of good and not evil, a plan to give you a future and hope. (Jere 29:11) Yet, God’s plan does not unfold all at once.
Adam received clear and direct instruction from God (Gen 2:17). When the adversary approached Eve in Genesis 3:1, Eve was well aware of God’s instruction. God said do not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Gen 3:3). In a short while, Eve decided to disobey God. As a result, she was not able to live the dream life God planned for her. Since Adam was also disobedient, he also missed the dream life God planned for him. Not only were their lives forever changed. The lives of all of humanity were changed because of this one bad decision.
When you and I make decisions against the will of God, we too may be damaging our lives and the lives of countless other people…forever. Truthfully, God gives us more than one opportunity to get it right. As we move into the new year, prayerfully follow the plan of God instead of listening to the ways of the world. Our choices may not seem as clear as the one Adam & Eve had to make. Yet, when you seek God — God’s choice is crystal clear. It may not be an easy choice but the choice for your best life will become clear when you spend time with God.
Adam & Eve only listened to the serpent. They decided to ignore God and God’s clear instruction to them!! God’s instructions provide protection and progression. I pray that we follow God’s instruction for life and seek Him for understanding whenever we have a question about the decisions of life.
May God’s Hand Guide You Through the New Year!!
