God gave each one of us the right to choose our own way or to choose God’s way. As Jesus expressed in the following verse – God is blessed when we decide to follow God’s plan for our lives.
17 For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My [own] life so that I may take it back. 18 No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I am authorized and have power to lay it down and to give it up, and I am authorized and have power to take it back. This command I have received from My Father.” (John 10:17-18)
When you first read these words you may think Jesus said these words because he has a higher calling on his life than you and I. Think again, we too have the power to lay down our lives/our plans for the future in exchange for God’s plan for each one of us.
Jesus spoke these words shortly after he healed a man who was born blind. Jesus was blessed and he blessed this young man, the man’s family and friends in this healing. Honestly, it is difficult to relinquish our plans for God’s plan. As we plan our future, we have goals we want to accomplish. The secret is, when we exchange our plan for God’s plan – God’s plan encompasses the essence of our dreams and much, much more.
God is truly in the midst when you are blessed and many others are blessed at the same time! Do you choose to give up your plan for God’s plan for you?
