God's Way
Matthew 4
As I was reading Matthew 4:1-10, a few things came to my mind:
· After being baptized, Jesus was sent to the wilderness to be tempted. In prior readings, that fact did not capture my attention.
· At some point, each one of us will be tempted
· Jesus wants us to know how to deal with the weaknesses we face in our lives
· A great benefit of the Bible is that it is full of words to encourage our daily walk with God and among people.
· We all have weaknesses and deal with temptation.
· It always helps to have a verse of scripture to address the issue you are dealing with
Whatever you are dealing with…someone has dealt with that same issue before.
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. I Corinthians 10:13
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. Psalm 34:19
