A Call to Love

As Christians we are called to love the people who are near and dear to our hearts and people we associate with on a regular basis. We are also called to love the people who never want to associate with us even if we never want to associate with them. As much as we may want to pray a curse over people who do not like us at all — remember — they are already cursed because they lack love.

Matthew 5:46 points toward the challenge of love. When we love people who don’t love us - we are representing God in the earth. Taking on the challenge to love people outside of our circle of friends and family requires God’s assistance.

Titus 2:4 indicates how young women are to love their children and spouse. Love within the home establishes the foundation for love in our world. Love eliminates jealousy and hatred. Love grooms us to become better people in our hearts. Love grooms us to become better family members. Love grooms us to become better citizens.

As we turn the page on the month of February when we celebrate love - remember love is to be the focus of our lives every day of the year.
