Bountiful Blessings
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Psalm 23 is one of the favorite Bible passages of all time. This morning the word of the Lord came to me with Psalm 23:5. Let’s examine the verse.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Bountiful blessings from God are given to you without regard for your enemies. Your enemies include the people who do not like you; people who envy you; and people who misunderstand their purpose in life. When people understand their purpose, their lives will complement your life. When people misunderstand their purpose in life – they will become jealous and dislike you for reasons you can never understand.
God blesses whoever he wants to bless without consideration of your shortcomings or disappointments in life. God blesses bountifully when the time comes for you to be blessed.
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over: Rest in the assurance of knowing when God blesses you according to his plan, you will not be able to contain the blessing. The blessings overflow to those around you. The people around you include the people connected to your life and ministry. If you think you are not a minister --Ministry means giving of yourself. So whatever you give your time to is your ministry.
I pray you will allow Psalm 23 to encourage you to use the gift God placed in you. Your gift was given to bless the world. When you use your gift with the people around you – waves of blessings will be echoed into time. Using your gift proves the faithfulness of God. The faithfulness of God is best displayed in humanity when we obey the word of the Lord.
Be blessed!
