Move past the critics
In spite of the many miracles Jesus performed – the people closest to him questioned his abilities and authority.(John 7:4-5) If those closest to you seem to doubt your abilities– you are in good company.
In John chapter 7:4-5 Jesus’ brothers push him to prove himself. It seems they were not sure Jesus could conduct his ministry in front of a larger audience in the same ways as he had done for smaller audiences. Clearly, Jesus had already demonstrated his capacity to heal, to provide, and meet whatever needs the people presented. Yet, that was not enough.
When you begin to reach for your dreams people will question you too. They will want to know why you want to do certain things. They will question your ability to move forward and they will even chastise you or try to convince you of why you can never reach your goals. Notice, Jesus did not get into a debate with his naysayers. He made a statement and moved on. When you and I are faced with criticism we should give the criticism very limited time. If there is something worth consideration in what you hear – value that bit of information and use it to improve on your plan. Otherwise, do not allow critics to hinder your progress. Continue with your plan and use your critics as resources/fuel to push you forward.
As you know, Jesus went to the festival and continued to minister in miraculous and marvelous ways. If he had relented/turned from his life’s calling – we would not know him as the Messiah/God in the flesh.
Keep moving forward!
God Bless you
