Are you connected?
5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. (John 15:5-6)
This text lets us know Jesus is the source of our lives & livelihood and when we are connected to Jesus we are productive. Then it says, when we are disconnected from the life of Jesus we are fruitless. Lets talk about what this means in our everyday lives. When we are connected to Christ, Jesus gives us hope, endurance, and the ability to find meaning for life each day. When we are disconnected from Christ; confusion, wasted time, and lack of direction cause us to drift further and further from God.
None of us want to be disconnected from God. The result of being disconnected can be costly and devastating. Yet, the frustrations of life challenge our connection to God each day. So how do we remain connected, fresh, and hopeful? There is scripture for everything we face in life. It may not be the exact same circumstance. However, it will address the issue. As we spend time with God – God will lead us to resources for encouragement. So, whenever we feel ourselves drifting away from God, find scripture related to your situation. Whatever is filling your mind is the thing to look for in scripture. Whether it is concern about finances, relationships, sickness, or something else – meditating/spending time with the word of God yields amazing results. In the presence of the Lord our viewpoints change and connection is restored.
Be blessed
