Allow God

When Joshua led Israel into battle in Joshua 10 – God told Joshua not to fear. The Lord promised Joshua that he had delivered the opposing forces into Israel’s hand. Read it for yourself!

And the Lord said to Joshua, Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hand; there shall not a man of them stand before you. Joshua 10:8

When we read further we learn how God discomfited the enemy, God chased the enemy, and God sent hailstones to destroy the enemy’s attack on Israel. Nobody but God!

When we are in a battle in our lives we most often try to fight the battle ourselves. Only when we are out of resources or have no weapons do we begin to call on the name of the Lord. Let me suggest to you and to myself --  let’s call on the Lord at the beginning of conflict. Let’s call on the Lord before the battle starts. Let’s call on the Lord every chance we get.

And when the enemy shows up – we may be surprised to know it was a setup all along! When we could be walking under the protection of God . . . why would we choose to try to fight life’s battles alone?
